Trevon Diggs didn’t pass the hustle test, in keeping with one beat reporter, and the Cowboys star cornerback let him hear it.
While confronting Mike Leslie of WFAA in Dallas outside the locker room following the Cowboys’ 30-24 loss to the 49ers on Sunday night, Diggs yelled at Leslie for posting on X, “What’s Trevon Diggs doing on this play?”
The play in reference featured Diggs seemingly running at about 50 percent while chasing down George Kittle during a 43-yard gain that arrange the 49ers’ go-ahead touchdown within the third quarter.
After Diggs confronted Leslie, the reporter implored Diggs to “speak about it more,” to which Diggs replied, “Speak about Deez Nuts.”
The tone of the exchange, posted to X by @newyscruggs, was quite hostile as Diggs yelled outside the locker room before storming in.
“That’s what you took from that?” Diggs said to Leslie. “Out of that whole play, that’s what you took from that? You don’t know football. You’ll be able to’t do nothing that I do. You’ll be able to’t go on the market and do nothing. Stay in your lane, buddy. Stop trying me, dog.”
“Just asking the query, Trevon,” Leslie replied. “I mean, I’m joyful to have you ever answer the query.”
Diggs responded: “Out of that whole play, that’s what you took from that? That’s what you bought from that? Out of that whole play, that’s what you bought from that?”
“We will speak about it more,” Leslie continued.
Diggs was not in a talking mood after the exchange, refusing to talk with reporters after the sport.
Leslie posted on X to poke some fun.
“I should not have a comment about deez nuts,” Leslie said.
That play helped set the tone for the 49ers in third quarter, with San Francisco out-scoring the Cowboys, 21-0, to take command of the sport.
The Cowboys now sit at 3-4 with a road game on tap against the Falcons.
