Chicago police are investigating a “shooting incident” that took place at Guaranteed Rate Stadium on Friday night, in keeping with multiple reports.
On Friday, the White Sox took on the A’s, and there have been no delays to play as Oakland pulled away with a 12-4 victory.
It’s unclear how many individuals were involved, though ABC 7 in Chicago reported the incident took place somewhere near the left-field bleachers.
Per the Chicago Tribune, a lady received medical attention for her leg and later walked out of the ballpark with medics.
In accordance with NBC 5, the shooting occurred around 8:45 p.m., and two people were hit but didn’t suffer life-threatening injuries.
The sport ended around 9 p.m.
After the sport, the team was imagined to host a Nineties-themed concert featuring Vanilla Ice, Rob Base and Tone Loc, but it surely was canceled due to what the team called “technical difficulties.”
“Attention Fans. As a consequence of technical issues, tonight’s postgame concert has been canceled,” a message said on the Guaranteed Rate scoreboard.
“We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Fans holding on-field passes will receive a refund to the unique purchaser’s bank card.”
