Looks like Bruce Springsteen wasn’t born to run upstairs.
The boss elicited gasps across the web after taking an epic tumble on stage while performing within the Netherlands over the weekend.
A video of the falling star amassed over 7.4 million views on TikTok as fans expressed concern over the “Dancing In The Dark” singer’s safety.
Springsteen, 73, and the E Street Band were launching their hit song “Ghosts” on the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam.
Things took a turn after the Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer attempted to walk up the stage stairs with a guitar around his neck, and ended up tripping and falling to the ground as fans gasped.
The “If I Should Fall Behind” lay for several seconds and bandmates immediately rushed over and helped him stand back up.
Thankfully, it appeared Springsteen wasn’t hurt during his impromptu stage dive as he rose to his feet with a smile and quipped, “Good night everybody.” The multi-time Grammy Winner then finished the concert like a champ.
Fans were quick to react to the on-stage spill. “That was not a really BOSS move,” quipped one viewer on Twitter, while one other wrote, “He’s taking place, down, down, down…but he got up and is OK.”
A 3rd praised the Boss for his quick recovery, writing: “He just laughed it off and delivered a implausible gig to us all.
Nonetheless, other crueler trolls on TikTok compared the legend to US President Joe Biden, whose multiple wipeouts while ascending stairs have turn into a running joke in conservative circles.
Springsteen and the E Street Band are currently in the midst of their 2023 worldwide tour, which began in Tampa, Florida in February before moving to Europe this past April.
Springsteen will return to the US in August, before closing out the tour in December.
