Body camera video shows the moment a Black pastor was arrested while watering his neighbor’s plants in Alabama. Officers said they were responding to a call about a suspicious person in the yard. Michael Jennings was arrested despite a neighbor explaining that he and the homeowner were good friends. The charges against Jennings were eventually dropped and he plans to file a discrimination lawsuit against the officers.

The police had reasonable suspicion since a neighbor called saying it wasn’t the property owner at the house. The man should have identified himself.
Him not doing, though, is totally understandable as black people get triggered by having been profiled and stopped many times because their skin makes them suspicious to a lot of white people. His reaction is not just about this situation, but a lifetime of frustration for him and his loved ones.
The police officers should have immediately un cuffed him once the neighbor identified him.
Also, I don’t buy the neighbors store. Who calls the police because a car is in front of someone’s house you don’t recognize? She saw the car and got a glimpse of a black man and freaked. She is trying to not look like she is prejudice. Hope I am wrong though.

She called the police without even checking properly who it could be knowing full well Pastor Michael Jennings had permission to water his neighbour's flowers.
