President Joe Biden signed an executive order aimed at making it easier for women seeking abortions to travel between states to get to abortion care.

President Joe Biden said “the fight is not over” as he signed a new executive order Wednesday that would support individuals traveling out state for an abortion. Biden’s executive order directs Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra to consider actions that would expand access for individuals seeking reproductive healthcare services, including expanding Medicaid to cover travel costs.
However, the executive order will not result in any immediate policies being implemented. And, it’s unclear how the Hyde Amendment – a long-standing prohibition on using federal funds for abortion – could interfere with actions as a result of the executive order. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Wednesday the actions that HHS comes up with will not violate the Hyde Amendment. “The Hyde Amendment is law and we’re going to follow that law.” The action comes after the Supreme Court in June issued a ruling that overturned the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade, which established a constitutional right to abortion.
During the signing Wednesday, Biden applauded Kansas voters for rejecting an amendment that would have allowed the Republican-controlled state Legislature to put new restrictions on the procedure or prohibit it entirely. He also praised the Justice Department for suing the state of Idaho for a near-total ban on abortion. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris also convened the first interagency task force on reproductive healthcare access along with Becerra and Jennifer Klein, director of the White House Gender Policy Council.

I’m fine with woman having the right to get an abortion but if your going to allow one side the power to escape their responsibilities then it should work both ways and men should be allowed to choose if we want to be father’s or not. If the woman doesn’t want the baby but the man does he has not say in the abortion and is forced to live knowing his child died. On the other hand if she wants the baby and he doesn’t oh well here comes child support and you better pay or it jail time and license suspended.

My tax money should not pay for murdering a child. Anybody who wants an abortion should be required to pay 100% completely out of their own pockets. If they don’t have the money, than too bad. Abortion should not be eligible for insurance coverage unless the pregnancy was due to rape or if it is determined that she cannot safely continue the pregnancy.

It directs a Federal agency to find ways to circumvent the laws of one state by aiding and assisting someone to travel across state lines to do something that would be illegal in their home state. If you think abortion is a clean, harmless surgical procedure, you haven't actually seen one. You would puke your guts out.

Joe Biden has done so much good in this executive order. I think abortion and abortion rights need to be taught in schools too. Many people like to ignore it, but teen pregnancy is a thing and if abortions are taught to them at an early age (middle school or early high school) then imagine how many young women lives could be saved. Young women need to learn that there is a way out and abortion is nothing to be ashamed of.
