Airline and airport workers are on strike across Europe, demanding better pay. Airports are facing hour-long delays, staff shortages and long lines as summer passenger volumes surge. Meanwhile in the U.S., there were far fewer cancellations over the 4th of July weekend in comparison to Memorial Day or Father’s Day weekends. Still, one out of every five flights is delayed.

The only way to reduce all the mess at the (European) airports is to reduce the sale of new airplane tickets. Airline companies should have less routes to offer. Then there would be less cancellations and less pressure on airports to handle all the luggage etc. Of course, it would increase the price of a ticket but I guess that is the price you are going to pay if you want to have a reasonable smooth journey
