Oh, my pod.
Apple partisans who ponied up for a pair of the pricey latest AirPods Max are calling the headphones a “nightmare” — blaming stubborn Bluetooth connectivity issues and short-lived functionality for his or her frustration.
“I really like Apple however the AirPods Max are the worst things I’ve ever purchased,” lamented one fan online, while one other called the stylish product their “worst buy this yr.”
Apple’s discussion forums are suffering from entries from disgruntled customers voicing complaints against the devices, while users on social media have griped that that their $549 over-ear headphones are practically useless.
“@Apple you seriously have to recall these…AirPods Max because they f–king suck,” one frustrated person wrote on X. “I’m on my second pair they usually still don’t work. I’m not the one person complaining about this either. They literally never connect.”
“Mine is connecting/disconnecting on a regular basis,” moaned one other X user.
“I do know Apple products are designed to [break] after [a] couple of years, but this one is 4 months old,” he joked.
“Absolutely hate the constant Bluetooth issues on the #AirPodsProMax,” another person wrote. “Anyone else face this or is it my accursed fate?”
Some Redditors have griped concerning the fit of the headphones, saying that the scarf became stretched out in a brief time frame and caused pain or discomfort.
Others claimed that the “smallest movement” of their head caused the noise output to stop and the headphones to develop into disconnected, too.
One person claimed to have experienced “audio skipping, poor range connection, really loud popping sounds firstly of videos on one ear” and connectivity issues, despite never damaging the product.
Individuals are so fed up with the technical issues that they vowed to change to a different company’s product entirely, ditching their AirPods for good.
“Aaaand my AirPods Max are dead again. Worked perfectly for about two weeks and dead as a doormouse,” one person wailed on X. “Well, I assume I’m switching over to my Sonys permanently now.”
“The battery life on the Apple Max headphones gotta be a joke, bro — aside from the noise cancellation, these headphones suck. Literally took my brother’s Beat headphones and the battery life is way higher,” one other complained.
While Apple didn’t immediately reply to The Post’s request for comment, one customer revealed their hack for fixing their AirPods Max headphones in a discussion forum.
“After a frustrating few months with my out of warranty AirPods Max (Audio stopping on the fitting earphone before disconnecting and resetting; attempting factory resets to no avail; buttons not working; etc.), I believe I’ve finally got them in good working order again and desired to share the steps I used to achieve this,” they wrote.
The user advised resetting the AirPods Max by forgetting the headphones within the Bluetooth settings of your personal device — whether smartphone or laptop — and shut down the entire devices attached to your iCloud.
Then, initiate a factory reset on the AirPods Max by pressing the noise control and digital crown buttons for 15 seconds, followed by adequately cleansing the headphones. Then, restart the iCloud devices and reset the AirPods Max before attempting to attach again.
“Your headphones should now be connected and visual across all devices,” they wrote. “Try playing audio from a connected device.”
