Apple announced on Thursday that its self-service repair program is now available in Europe.

This system, dubbed Apple Diagnostics for Self Service Repair, gives consumers the flexibility to check products for optimal parts functionality and discover parts which will need repair without assistance from Apple or an independent repair provider.

First launched within the U.S. in December 2023, the tool now supports 42 Apple products and is obtainable in 32 European countries, including the U.K., France and Germany, in accordance with a release. This system will now support iPhone, Mac and Studio Display models in 33 countries and 24 languages. Apple said it also plans to expand the service to Canada in 2025.

Apple first launched the self-service program in 2022, offering customers access to manuals, legitimate Apple parts and tools utilized by Apple to permit them to repair their very own devices. This system was began in response to pressure from “right to repair” advocates who argue that buyers mustn’t be locked right into a select set of authorized repair shops. In February, the corporate expanded this system to incorporate Mac models powered by the newest M3 chip.

The corporate said the self-service repair tool is an element of an ongoing effort to increase the lifespan of its products.

“While Apple is committed to providing protected and inexpensive repair options, designing and constructing long-lasting products stays the highest priority,” Apple said within the announcement. “One of the best sort of repair for purchasers and the planet is one which is rarely needed.”

Customers can begin an Apple Diagnostics session on a second product to ascertain the status and performance on a tool which will need repair, in accordance with a release. After following a series of onscreen prompts, they may learn whether their product needs repairing and which parts may have to be replaced.
