New research has found ambulance ramping times in Victoria were blowing out before the pandemic and are linked to a significant increase in the risk of death.
The research – published in the Medical Journal of Australia – observed 200,000 cases of people taken to Victorian hospitals with chest pains and found blown-out ambulance wait times could have led to 70 preventable deaths in 2018.
The findings debunk claims by the Andrews government that the ramping problem is related to COVID-19 pressures on the system.

There is no justification for Ambulance ramping, hospitals are supposed to implement triage when patient numbers get to high….which is prioritising patients in order of threat to life…. only the hospitals can do that and only after the patients are inside!
