Alec Baldwin, charged with involuntary manslaughter within the 2021 death of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, is facing criticism online after posting about gun control.
The actor, 64, reshared a screenshot of a viral tweet from musician Peter Frampton following the college shooting at Covenant School in Nashville this week, which took the lives of six people and the shooter.
“26 years ago, a gunman entered Dunblane Primary School in Scotland, killing 16 kids and a teacher,” the tweet read. “The UK govt responded by enacting tight gun control laws. Within the 9400+ days since, there have been a complete of 0 school shootings within the UK.”
Baldwin reposted the tweet on Instagram with out a caption, seemingly in support of gun control measures, nevertheless it prompted blowback from some in light of the actor’s ongoing legal troubles.
“Read the room Alec. You’re unbelievable,” someone wrote.
“Kettle, pot,” snarked one other, mentioning Baldwin’s seeming hypocrisy.

Baldwin was on set filming his upcoming American Western film “Rust” in 2021 when a prop gun was loaded with a live bullet for unknown reasons.
The actor allegedly fired the gun, and the bullet struck the cinematographer, Hutchins, who later succumbed to her injuries.
Earlier this yr, the “30 Rock” alum was charged within the death that happened while on set in Latest Mexico, and he could withstand 18 months in prison if convicted.
Baldwin has maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty last month in court.
Despite the fees, he’ll still be allowed to film “Rust.”
Baldwin’s Instagram post followed the Nashville school shooting on Monday, March 25, when former student Audrey Hale, 28, stormed into the Christian academy.
Hale took the lives of three 9-year-old students – Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney – in addition to custodian Mike Hill, 61, substitute teacher Cynthia Peak, 61, and college headmaster Katherine Koonce, 60.
Officers responding to the incident found Hale, with assault weapons and a handgun, on the college’s second floor and killed the shooter.
Upon searching Hale’s family home in the town, law enforcement found maps of the college and a manifesto.
The tragedy reignited the talk over stricter gun laws within the US.
On Tuesday, President Joe Biden called for Congress to act, suggesting “an assault weapons ban.”
