Apparently, France’s fame as a culinary mecca doesn’t apply within the sky.
Air France has been ripped online over an in-flight meal that put the “plain” in airplane, per a Reddit post taking off online.
In accordance with the Post, the sky snacks were the “preflight” meal aboard an unspecified flight from Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris and JFK.

“Yes, economy, but still kinda sad,” they wrote. “Guess it’s value paying a number of extra bucks for a Delta meal next time!”
The accompanying photo showed the meager meal, which appeared to entail a few paper-thin cheese slices between bread with an unidentified sauce.
The Redditor compared the minimalist dish to in-flight equivalent of the “Fyre Festival,” the ill-fated 2017 event luxury music festival that notoriously stranded hundreds of revelers on an island with nothing but meager food and emergency tents.
The Post reached out to Air France for comment.
Meanwhile, Reddit users sympathized with the traveler’s paltry in-flight bite.
“This appears like a Mississippi prison lunch,” said one, while one other scoffed, “ things are bad when Air France is serving processed cheese.”
A 3rd quipped, “It’s the exact same of their Premium Economy cabin too. But to be fair a French breakfast is generally only a coffee and 4 cigarettes.”
“The food on AF is shockingly bad,” said one other.
This isn’t the primary time an airline has been grilled over its alternative of mid-flight meal.
In March, an Etihad Airways passenger needed to be wheeled off the airplane after he threw up over two dozen times during a six-hour “flight from hell” — which he blamed on the in-flight meal.
The flyer’s tummy turbulence was reportedly brought on by a “tomato, cheesy, chicken pasta” that reportedly had an off-putting stench.
“I had diarrhea twice and 10 minutes after that I used to be just continually throwing up in the course of the flight,” recalled Callaghan. “I threw up probably about 30 times.”
The passenger added, “I used to be going to the bathroom every five minutes, lying within the fetal position and towards the top of the flight, I’d emptied my body a lot that I couldn’t even get up.”
He said his symptoms were reportedly so severe that he had “to sit down in the back of the plane with an air hostess while she kept the bathroom free for me.”
