Buy the dip, they have billions in credit. No need except to reduce staff and increase profits? Back to $12/share? Politicians need air canada and their staff.

The most overpriced flights in the world. Air Canada is a rip off.

  8. Venera German says:

Well , everything what is going on doesn’t make any sense…Just two years ago ,, flights,, company were going bankrupt because of covid … and now when people decided to travel we are not ready….instead of helping airlines to recover government does opposite… No money? But money to send different countries is available? May be we have to take care of Canadian people first… ? Or Canadian asking too much?

  9. Maria Marine says:

This is horrific. Air Canada should be stripped of their subsidies and SUED

What will happen if the people don't fly at all.

F them! My friend is flying with them today – they charged 4 times the normal price and what would be 13 hour flight they have delayed her 12 times and her total flight time will be 35 hours and they lost her luggage!!

It's their forecasting that was too optimistic. After a two year suppression, much of the trained labour have had to find other means to survive and we also have had a two year break in training more such professionals. It will take time to scale back operations while there will be a latent demand surge with the consumers. The airlines just failed at projecting at what rate they could scale up at. Now if people would just calm down and only travel if absolutely necessary, that would help and would also reduce the probability of a resurgence of the pandemic and of any other pandemics some of which such as monkey pox have already started due to travel.

If you want this pandemic to be truly over, you can't just act as if it is no longer a threat, you have to act cautiously even as restrictions are lifted.

There are better airlines than Air Canada. People can chose those and Air Canada is the worst flight in the world. If you really want to enjoy flight chose middle eastern flights.

  15. Meera R says:

Oh no due to health and safety they won't hire more staff only fire them so their safety is in jeopardy without feeding their families. I think people need education beyond grade 10 to understand this

Those million dollar bonuses the CEO’s took from the bailout money went to good use I see! Another failure in the long list of Trudeau’s bad decisions! Canada has NEVER been in such a disorganized state as it is now! All because of our inexperienced Prime Minister!

World's worst airline, Air Canada. Not one lease bit surprising.

Still don’t know why they are doing this. It doesn’t make sense that less flights is the solution to lots more people flying. What??!!!’

  26. E says:

My guess is they canceled because they're losing money to the fuel prices, passengers buying their tickets months in advance with lower fuel prices are coming out on top and corporations ain't having that.

  27. Dontsteponme says:

Air Canada agreed with the new mandate that Canadians must get boosters every 9 months. Used Air Canada my entire life. Never again. They deserve everything they get.

  28. Thewayiseeit says:

    What a disgrace!

  29. Robin Fleet says:

This problem is also the result of Air Canada basing intercontinental flights out of Canada from only a couple of airports in the country. Causes major problems when these flight hubs stumble, and then the snowball takes over.

On our first flight with air canada we lost our luggage (late April 2022) my family always flew with American companies. When we get our refund from air canada we will never fly with them again. We're going back to American flights.

  33. 1008chaz says:

I wonder how much of these problems come from routes being unprofitable due to our crazy gas prices and carbon taxes.

Air Canada makes excuses (shortage of employees) even though their numbers are at pre-Covid levels. They cancelled flights to maintain services. They can't maintain services in spite of their efforts. Conclusion — The employees are just more incompetent than three years before.
