Hypersonic missiles are a waste of money. You can buy 70 cruise missiles for the same as one hypersonic missile. Launch 70 cruise missiles at any target and guaranteed more than one will hit the target while for the same money only one hypersonic will hit. In case you didn’t know , our nuclear missiles are all hypersonic. A minuteman missile that had been around since 1970 travels at Mach 20 when in space. I’m sure there will be some circumstances where a hypersonic missile may help but those circumstances are far and few between to really matter in a conflict.
