Sitting atop a hill overlooking Italy’s capital, the American Academy plays host to a range of artists, composers, writers and scholars who gather in this distinctly Italian setting aimed at stimulating creativity and collaboration. Correspondent Seth Doane explores the history of the Academy and finds out how Rome is inspiring the mostly American fellows to foster new work and ideas.

Your videos are always the bestšÆ I do receive a notification each time you post a new video.. We'll have regrets for things we did not participate in…Investment should always be on any creative man's heart for success in life.
It must be an amazing energy there

To think – a space to create myriad kinds of beauty, of words and music, art and film, visions; without worry of how to feed the body or rest your head!
Ethereal and energizing, both. And surrounded by like souls…
I am not of that caliber, but the tiny creative spark in me flares with hope and happiness for the fellows who are.
Wonderful story.
The Eternal City is like no other.
Do not go in August.
Do your HW.
Buy tickets online to avoid hours in line.
Go to historic sites early in the day or later in the day.
If time allows visit other sites in Lazio and get lost. No, really.
Interacting with locals will be the best part of your trip.

Well, seems like a vacation from my life. I think we would all enjoy some creative time. We should all get mandatory creative time throughout the year.
