They put her on blast.
A widely known Florida influencer and mother-to-be faces criticism after her extravagant gender reveal put her and her unborn child in danger.
Lele Pons, from Miami, hosted a lavish party with a showy stunt to announce the gender of their baby.
Along along with her husband, Pons stood on stage in front of a background with an indication that read “Team Boy” behind dad and “Team Girl” behind mom. People in rain ponchos stood under each sign waiting.
The expectant parents then pressed down on a handle that read “TNT” — and turned around to see pink gloop shooting out of the “Team Girl” side.
The sketchy substance rushed out, covering the people standing under the sign.
However the liquid shot out so quickly it flooded the stage immediately — causing Lele to slide and fall to the bottom, while her husband jumped for joy.
The pregnant woman struggled to get her footing and continued to slide while everybody celebrated — when the proud papa turned around and saw his wife in distress.
Lele laughed it off as her husband held her upright, but viewers didn’t find the situation as hilarious.
The video quickly went viral on Instagram and folks weren’t impressed.
“Omg that is so dangerous. Not even funny,” one person noted echoing lots of the other comments.
“A woman but at what cost, it was almost not any gender,” one other said.
“Did she nearly lose her child over a gender reveal?” someone asked.
“Literally probably the most dangerous reveal I even have seen!” one other person commented.
While people’s reactions could seem a bit explosive, they arrive as people have increasingly rejected gender reveal theatrics after some have led to wildfires, jailtime and even death.
Several years ago, the girl credited with inventing the trend even began begging the general public to stop the “toxic” practice.
