It’s time to brush up in your travel etiquette.

When you’re considered one of those individuals with quirky travel habits — it could be time to place those to an end. Experts at Hotels.com revealed essentially the most irritating things travelers do while on vacation — and also you don’t wish to be considered one of these people.

The booking site surveyed travelers on social media asking what habits their fellow hotel-mates do this annoys them essentially the most.

While nothing is worse than getting all the way down to the pool while on vacation and never seing a single lounge chair free. This can be a universal feeling — but 60% of individuals despise when others reserve pool chairs, after which disappear for hours.

And evidently those that are doing the reserving, aren’t too keen on it either — since hotels aren’t providing enough chairs for his or her guests to start with.

A Florida man named Mark Tolerbed told the Wall Street Journal that he needed to get up before the daybreak to make sure he found seats for himself and his girlfriend while on vacation.

“We hated getting up at 4 a.m.,” Toler said.

Despite this battle, some hotels are going to the acute by not permitting guests to plop their belongings on a coveted chair.

In keeping with the favored booking site, Marriott’s Maui Ocean Club in Hawaii has a strict policy where they only allow visitors to order one additional chair. Their policy also says that unattended items could also be tagged and removed by pool security.

A hotel in Greece — St. George Beach Hotel & Spa Resort — only gives guests a sunbed after they arrive on the pool area.

Because of this of all this, many resort-goers might find it hard to really chill out — the major reason they’re on vacation to start with.

One other habit that individuals dislike but don’t feel as strongly about is working by the pool.

A lot of the surveyees don’t enjoy seeing an individual with their heads buried in a laptop — but almost a 3rd are superb with it.

Something even worse than getting work done while on hotel property? Packing on the PDA out within the open in front of other travelers.

86% of individuals gave a thumbs all the way down to people smooching while frolicking by the pool. Argument could possibly be said, let the PDA people enjoy their trip — but who am I to chime in?

An unexpected criticism is how fellow travelers dress — or lack thereof while on their foreign rendezvous.

76% of travelers agree that they don’t wish to see people wearing pajamas or bathrobes around a hotel — especially when at breakfast.

This could be more common than expected — as Hotel Bennett in South Carolina and the Goring hotel within the UK — have a particular dress code and prohobit any guest from publicly wearing their bathrobe in common areas across the hotels.

The last habit that had those surveyed conflicted was whether it was acceptable to eat and drink in a hotel bed — as 40% agreed to let travelers eat wherever they select.

When you are planning on ordering room service while away from home — be certain to scrub up after yourself.

Etiquette coach Myka Meier told Travel + Leisure that she advises travelers not to depart their finished room service trays within the hallway outside their hotel rooms.

“It’s messy and smelly for other guests, in addition to a visit hazard,” she said. “As a substitute, call room service if you’re done and tell them you’re able to have your tray picked up.”
