Trey McBride is now the highest-paid tight end in NFL history after he agreed to a four-year, $76 million extension with the Cardinals, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

In keeping with the report, McBride will make $43 million guaranteed and get a mean of $19 million per yr, the biggest amount for an NFL tight end.

He surpasses the previous record holder, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce ($17.1 million per yr).

McBride, a 2022 second-round select of Colorado State, is coming off a robust season where he set a career-high in receptions (111) and yards (1,146).

The tight end also had three touchdowns to his name in 2024.

“Maaaaan! So glad for my dawg, value every penny! More work to be done but an awesome day,” Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray posted on X after news of the signing was reported.

“LFG! Going to be special,” McBride also reacted.

The Cardinals expect more big things out of the 25-year-old within the years to return.

“He had a extremely good yr but he hasn’t hit his ceiling,” Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said on the NFL mix, the team’s website reported. “He’s working on different parts of his game, but he needs to maintain doing what he’s doing.

“He’s not a one-trick pony.”
