As expected, Jets LT Tyron Smith is out for the sport as he deals with a neck injury that’s likely ending his season and underwhelming Jets profession. … LB C.J. Mosley, also coping with a neck injury, won’t play, either. It’ll be the fifth consecutive game he’s missed and eighth overall this season.

The mystery involving Jets safety Tony Adams powers on. Adams, who began 15 games last season and eight this season, was reportedly benched last week on the request of team owner Woody Johnson. The Athletic reported it, and the Jets didn’t deny it.

Adams played only seven snaps on special teams and none on defense within the Colts game. Ulbrich said Friday, “Tony’s a man that, from a culture standpoint, we absolutely love. He didn’t play as much as I might’ve liked last week for whatever the rationale, and this week he’s going to play a little bit bit more. He’s going to get reintegrated into our defense.”

Adams, after Friday’s practice, told The Post he had no idea why he was benched, but he was looking forward to returning to the defense this week.

“I’ve definitely been getting reps in practice this week, in order that’s great,” Adams said. “I just need to go on the market and help the team. That’s all what I’m all about. I don’t know anything about [the report about Johnson wanting him benched]. I don’t pay an excessive amount of attention what goes on on social media.

“I’m here for one reason and one reason only — to assist this organization win games. I can’t wait to get back on the market, fly around with the blokes, do whatever it takes to assist us win some games. Because at the top of the day, that’s the one thing that matters.’’
