Amazon’s checkout function encountered technical issues on Friday, keeping customers from completing purchases. The e-commerce site displayed error messages with photos of dogs in the course of the outage as people posted about it on social media.
To run its website, Amazon relies by itself data center infrastructure. But the corporate’s Amazon Web Services division was not reporting any technical issues while the checkout feature wasn’t working. AWS downtime can result in problems across the web because so many firms depend on the market-leading public cloud.
An Amazon spokesperson didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment.
Within the run-up to the long weekend within the U.S., Amazon has began promoting discounts on products as a part of a Labor Day sale. But people weren’t in a position to purchase discounted products due to glitch, as some people identified on the X social network.
The Amazon Help account on X replied with a suggestion to contact the corporate.
Amazon has warned investors that technical incidents can result in lower sales and a worse perception of the corporate’s services and products. Sales are healthy at almost $148 billion within the second quarter.
