A TikToker has revealed why you must never put your valuables in what ought to be essentially the most secure place of a hotel room – the secure.

Las Vegas resident Leo Lenier left travelers distressed after unveiling an apparent secret method that may supposedly unlock and reset any coded hotel secure, putting precious items or money in danger.

“You’re thinking that that by locking it within the secure and making up your personal combination that it’ll be secure,” he says within the viral clip, which has been viewed greater than 1.7 million times on TikTok.

He places a hotel iron inside the digital secure — surrounded by hundred-dollar bills — and closes the door.

“It says it’s closed, it says it’s locked, no person knows your combination,” he continues, shaking the stiff handle to indicate it won’t open.

TikToker Leo Lenier posted a video showing how a hotel secure might be opened.

Lenier then shows how anyone could open the secure with ease — in the event that they know the way.

“But when anybody is available in and hits the lock button twice — you see the word super?” he says because the word appears on the code screen.

“Now all you’ve got to do is hit “0” six times, and it opens up,” he says because the secure door swings opens.

The code might be reset and unlocked, the video shows.

“That doesn’t seem very secure,” he concludes.

TikTok users were unnerved by the revelation.

“Well then, what’s secure whenever you go on vacation? It’s definitely not secure to have all of your money on you in any respect times,” one user asked.

Some online users said they’ve concerns about their belongings while traveling now.

“I’ve never had anything go missing BUT I’m planning for my next trip to have alternatives,” one other said.

“I locked my passport in there and forgot the code, the hotel maintenance guy got here & it took him 30 seconds to reset it and open the secure lol,” one person commented.

One user identified: “Well they probably need a code to open because I’m sure people forget their codes consistently.”

Others who gave it a try said Lenier’s procedure didn’t work for them.

“I just tried it in my hotel and it doesn’t work, might only be that model,” one person responded.

“For this reason never travel with my iron,” one other quipped.

In a cheeky follow up video in response to some comments about why he put the iron within the secure in the primary video, he repeats the unlocking procedure again — with an egg.
