4:44 If anyone knows better correct me if I'm wrong, but to my understanding, nicotine extract is one of the additives in "finished tobacco products" like cigarettes. (I'm saying they increase the nicotine levels). But even if they don't they could (possibly?) treat the leaves with a chemical that degrades the nicotine or just breed/genetically modify a tobacco plant with lower levels.
I truly can't comprehend the idea that kids should be actively prevented from vaping by banning vapes. Of course children vape. Kids smoke fucking ANYTHING! Yet we're in 2022 banning an adult product that was designed from the beginning to help people quit smoking.
And parroting what others have said: lowering nicotine levels just means more average consumption for cigarettes and especially vape, not less! More consumption obviously means more revenue for big tobacco.

man this is whole country is dumb we're just a 3rd world country with a gucci belt, people should be free to kill themselves with anything they want. If parents are dumb enough to let their kids smoke that shit then it's their fault not anyone else's, we need parents to step up their game (obviously not the pull out game).
When it comes to reducing/controlling nicotine levels in tobacco its usually done through a curing method, early tobacco from the pre-cigarette days was actually so strong people didn't inhale it and would get a little buzz just holding it in their mouth.
It was with the invention and then mass production of cigarettes that this curing technique was developed if I'm not mistaken and inhaling tobacco suddenly became the norm.
literally until just 130ish years ago tobacco was used much like the Natives Americans had used it for centuries, just without the spiritual/cultural significance.
So i assume all they have to do to alter the nicotine content is to alter the curing process.
I will say that if Camel Crushes didn't exist for my 12 year old self to suck down I probably wouldn't still be smoking now, almost 2 decades on. I like marlb smooths, but they taste like chocolate chip mint ice cream, and maybe that's just… not that great lmao. I make my own cigarettes now, but buy a pack of smooths as a treat sometimes. I just hope they don't remove cigarette flavored vaping juices, because I've gone from smoking a carton a week to a carton every year because of the dry tobacco flavor from vgod.
IDK why people who don't want to quit, or reduce their smoking take up vaping at all. I'm cool with all the nutty flavoring being banned, it might prevent that silliness.

Fun fact, cigarette companies put additional chemicals in the cigarettes to make the nicotine get absorbed more easily into the body. So, just because they cut down on the nicotine in there doesn't mean that they won't put some other chemical in there to counteract this reduction. At least people can't complain that they might put rat poison in them because, umm, it's already in there. I'm glad that cigarettes are one habit I never picked up.
