In a heated back-and-forth exchange at a Senate hearing on abortion, a law professor from Berkeley accused Sen. Hawley of being transphobic after the Republican senator asked the professor if she was referring to women when using the phrase “people with a capacity for pregnancy.” Professor Khiara Bridges added, “I want you to recognize that your line of questioning is transphobic.”

Taking away women’s right to their own bodies is a woman’s issue, it doesn’t affect men. Only biological women can get pregnant. Trans women are biological male.
