Kool and the Gang recent music
In July, Kool and the Gang will drop their thirty fourth studio album “People Just Wanna Have Fun.”
Should you need a sample of the disco-inflected record, take a look at the lead single “Let’s Party” featuring Sha Sha Jones here.
“You’ve got the funk, the jazzier tracks; we’ve got a number of ballads on there,” said lead singer and founder Robert “Kool” Bell in a press release in regards to the recent album.
“Then there are songs that cross over to a pop kind of thing. We go from the ‘70s, the ‘80s, right into now. It’s old skool, it’s recent school — we kinda captured all of it here. With all our music through the years, people have rejoiced. So I’d say this album nearly sums all of it up.”
The band is missing original members Ronald “Khalis” Bell and Dennis “D.T.” Thomas; the 2 passed away in 2020 and 2021, respectively
