A pilot fell to his death after exiting a plane mid-flight during an emergency landing near Raleigh, North Carolina. Police say 23-year-old Charles Hew Crooks either jumped or fell from the plane without a parachute; however, there is no mention of the pilot exiting the aircraft on new audio recordings from inside the cockpit. After a lengthy search on Friday, Crooks’ body was found in a backyard roughly 30 miles from where the plane landed. The second pilot’s identity is still unknown.

Something is up & I believe that The Parent's are involved. What caught my eye was the the "Father's" smirk on his face when he was mentioning that his son had always loved flying and he looked off to his left instead of looking straight ahead at the camera, & then when the "reporter" asked the parents that Ridiculous Question, both of the parents seemed as if they were acting & they had no tears at all and their emotions did not seem to be authentic

Landing gear fault and co pilot 'falling' would suggest the co-pilot could have been trying to visually inspect landing gear and fell. Tragic story all around.

The copilot did not jump from the plane! He most likely was trying to lean outside to inspect the damage on the gear without a safety harness and Fell out. Quit misleading people to think that he jumped without a parachute. During emergency situations people sometimes get anxious and make mistakes. Please quit miss reporting this man jumped! It was instead a fatal mistake

They attempted to land at another airport, had a hard landing and did a go-around (where they basically abort the landing and get back airborne). They damaged the landing gear on right side and decided to divert to Raleigh, likely because it has crash vehicles and longer runway.
This plane has a ramp door on the back. I'm going to put my money on what happened was – he was trying to inspect the landing gear for damage and fell out the back of the plane. Probably trying to look out the back cargo door or a side door and was pulled out of the aircraft. Odd event nevertheless.
They need to look into that pilot… why wouldn’t he mention he lost his copilot first?

Facts.
The cargo door was closed, not open. The cargo door is opened or closed from the cockpit.
The wheels are fixed, and do not retract or extend, and cannot be malfunctioning. If a wheel is missing, due to mechanical or accidental cause, the incident was not reported by the 'surviving' pilot. Any such incident would have been heavy enough for both pilots to realise there was damage.
The victim's body fell at 4000 ft, a very long time before landing. This was not reported by the 'surviving' pilot at the time.
The flight had an "out of control moment" at 11,000 ft. That incident was not reported at the time.
The view for the 'surviving' pilot of the cargo door, is clear at all times.
The position of the co pilot is always visible in any position on the aircraft.
The identity of the 'surviving' pilot was kept secret – check the protocols of secret societies linked to the media and the authorities.
The victim was intelligent and trained, one who knew the dangers of the cargo door, and would not do anything as rumoured.
The victim's flying records were sound.
The 'surviving' pilot used the term "we" for an unnatural number of times, and with unusual intonation in his communication with ATC.
The incident occurred up to half an hour before landing and was not reported at the time.
The wheels cannot be checked from the cargo door without enormous risk. The victim would not have attempted that, and neither would any pilot expect that action from another. The wheels can be visually checked from the cockpit. Proven by the fact that the 'surviving' pilot reported it, identifying the right side wheel.
(An alternative procedure for landing gear inspection is to do a low flyover of airport at request.)
Missing landing gear in this type of aircraft is not a grave danger.
Saying that the victim was suicidal and in a panic is false. It cannot be both. If the 'surviving' pilot noticed panic or stress in the victim, he would have taken action to keep him safe, and requested help with ground control.
Saying that the victim was young and foolish, is false, because he could not have passed pilot training without developing a balanced and cautious attitude in all his actions.
There was no reason to check the landing gear from the cargo door, there was no way of fixing the landing gear while flying.

So he either jumped out, fell out, or the other pilot threw him out. I'm guessing the former but there could be many reasons why. Perhaps he had a deep fear of dying in a plane crash or maybe he thought the emergency was his fault. The possibilities are endless.
I will keep this man and his family in my prayers.

It's in the new report. He attempted to crash the plane in a suicide mission, but the other pilot got back the controls and the plane was slightly damaged. After Crooks knew he failed and no longer had controls he apologized and jumped out of the plane.
